The Ultimate Video: The “Video of Love”
A profile: Video D’Amour
Written by Linnea Caldwell

We capture so many of life’s precious moments on video: baby’s first steps, toddler antics, embarrassing junior high moments, school plays and musicals and crazy high school antics. For most couples though, the most important day to capture on video is their wedding day. That special day passes so quickly that all the important details are easily forgotten.

This certainly was true for me. James and I were married on June 26, and as I reflect back on that day, most of it seems blurry and more like a dream than reality. How valuable it was to relive that day, to remember the toasts given, prayers prayed, vows spoken, tears cried, songs danced to and so much more, through our amazing, professional wedding DVD.

Hiring a professional videographer was one of the best decisions we made. Here are some question which led us to it:

Why would we want a videographer for our wedding or other special event?
1) As the bride looks at the value of all of the wedding services, videography becomes significantly more important. According to a 2003 survey by Breakthrough Marketing, Inc., 60% of all brides who didn’t have their weddings videotaped said that they wish they had.
2) 95% of brides who used a professional videographer to videotape their wedding said they recommend future brides should at least consider using a videographer.
3) Because the event passes so quickly, the only way for everyone, including future generations, to remember every special moment is through an artistic DVD which takes the viewer through every moment of the day, from walking down the aisle to the last dance, in a condensed way that captures every special moment without boring its audience.

Why would we choose a professional versus an amateur videographer?
1) According to the 2003 survey by Breakthrough Marketing, Inc., of all brides who used a friend or family member to videotape their wedding versus a professional, 49% said they would hire a professional if they could do it again.
2) Only a trained and experienced professional is fully prepared in experience, technology, equipment and training for their one chance to capture your day, through the rush of preparations, the emotion of the ceremony and the excitement of the reception. Amateur videographers often make mistakes because of their lack of experience.
3) Only a professional videographer has the technology, experience and skill needed to edit your multiple hours of footage into a comprehensive 45 - 90 minutes, which is much more often watched and more enjoyed than a drawn-out, poorly edited video.
4) An amateur videographer likely will not have the time or equipment for romantic special effects, guest interviews, courtship stories, individualized DVD covers, interactive DVD menus and the many other options available with a professional videographer.
If you have begun looking for a professional videographer, I can help you with your search for a quality, affordable, skilled, professional one…Video D’Amour. This husband-and-wife team, Jason and Katherine Nofs, capture your special day each from their own different angles and perspectives; they won’t miss anything!

These “new kids on the block” demonstrated to us the professionalism, friendliness, talent, experience, commitment and passion for their career and clients that will guarantee they will become a long-standing favorite in Southwest Michigan. They come highly recommended from their former clientele (such as us).

When we first discovered them, we knew we had hit the jackpot. Their young, fresh eyes (they are both in their mid-twenties) and passion for their career brings a refreshing breeze to the often stereotypical standards of wedding videography. Their concept of creative yet traditional videography, attention to detail, subtle special effects and awesome editing skills make for a unique, irreplaceable memento of your special day. Ours is our most cherished keepsake.

When it comes to weddings, there is simply no contest. Videography is the way to go, professionals are the best choice and Video D’Amour is the best in the area. Don’t just take our word for it though, give them a call and see for yourself. We highly recommend them, and we know that after you meet them, you too will choose Video D’Amour.
