Cont. Super Suppers Page 3
The ingredients are fresh and carefully selected, and anything on
the menu can be altered to fit any dietary needs, or picky palates.
If you start feeling overwhelmed or confused in the slightest bit, ask
one of the 15 knowledgeable assistants who are there to help you along.
Including time to socialize with your friends, the whole process takes
le ss than two hours to put together 12 meals for 6 people. Preparing
meals at Super Suppers can save time spent making lists, grocery shopping,
meal planning, and dishwashing -- an estimated 30 hours a month. Not
to mention the average serving only costs about $3.00.
Non-Mom’s Benefit, Too
This innovative and fun way of bringing the social aspect back into meal preparation
can also benefit businesses. Local businesses such as Stryker and the Kellogg
Company have hosted parties and team-building events at Super Suppers. Too
busy to participate in a session? Take advantage of the Grab-and-Go freezer;
the same gourmet meals are available for pickup: 3 servings for $10.00. Or
try the pick-up service: meals of your choice are assembled for you and ready
to go for an additional pick-up fee.
In my opinion, this is not just a good idea for a Mother’s Day
gift, but a good habit to have in general. Eating meals together is a
joyful and important thing in all cultures; it’s a time to catch
up with each other, laugh, and connect. Many of us have become accustomed
to eating on the run and expecting everything to be rushed and fast.
A lot of people I know eat “breakfast” in their cars on the
way to work. Dining out at restaurants gets expensive and is more impersonal
than the meal shared in the dining room at home. I see Super Suppers
as filling the gap between fast food and restaurants, and then going
above and beyond by offering a something quite priceless -- more quality
time to spend at home with the family.
