Super Suppers Cont. Super Suppers was founded by Judie Byrd, longtime cooking instructor
and owner of the Culinary School of Fort Worth. Along with starting this Michelle Troyer and her husband, Brad, own and run Super Suppers in Portage. Michelle is a culinary-trained chef and also a mother of four children; she knows the difficulty and also the importance of enjoying quality meals with her family. As a busy mother, Michelle also knows how important it is to go out with friends every so often and socialize. “This is a great thing to do with a group of friends; it’s a woman’s night out without guilt. The whole family will benefit from the meals you create while you’re having fun and socializing,” she explained. A typical visit to Super Suppers can be either a walk-in (which most other chains in this category don’t offer), a scheduled session, or a private party. If you have a group of people and want to schedule your private party here, as the hostess you will receive your meals for free ($199 value). It’s easy to register by phone or online. All the recipe designs, prep work (such as washing and chopping veggies), cleaning (before and after), and grocery shopping are done for you. As a customer, all you have to do is decide which meals you would like, go to one of the many set up kitchen stations, and get busy. There are 8 kitchen stations set up along the edges of a finely decorated room -- each set up for different meal creations. In the middle is an appetizer table filled with samples and sangria and the pastry island where the featured stuffed bread changes monthly. All the food you prepare is stored in appropriate portion-sized containers ready for your freezer, with easy to follow instructions for reheating at home for the family.
