Kalamazoo Music Cruise: The Ultimate Pub Crawl

Downtown Kalamazoo after dark will be rockin’ on September 29
and 30 when the Kalamazoo Music Cruise turns up the music.
Ambassador David’s Productions and WKFR FM are presenting the “Kalamazoo
Music Cruise” which is being billed as Kalamazoo’s ultimate
pub craw.” The event will run for two nights and will include four
bars and pubs in downtown Kalamazoo with one cover charge.
Musically, there will be something for everyone. Papa Pete’s at
the Blue Dolphin will host TLo Effect on Friday evening with Funk, Swing
and Hip Hop music from 9:30 pm to 1:30 am. Saturday evening, things will
switch to Reggae music with the sounds of the Roots Rock Society from
9 pm to 1 am.
Club Soda will be rocking on Friday evening (9 pm-1 am) with the Kalamazoo
Avenue Band, who performs rock rhythm and blues with allusions to the
Blues Brothers and the Beatles. On Saturday evening DJ Sammy Montero
will host a Salsa Island Party from 9:30-1:30.
At Francois’, Contrabando will be performing Latin music from
9 pm-1 am on Friday evening. Saturday’s entertainment will change
its tone to the Blues with music by the Out of Favor Boys who will perform
from 9:30 pm to 1:30 am.
In the same building, Tortilla Flats plans to host DJ Benjamin Paul
and Under the Table Productions. This DJ specializes in Hip Hop, House
and Electronic music and will be spinning from 9:30 pm to 1:30 am. DJTropickz
will take over the spinning on Saturday night (9:30pm -1:30 am) with
a variety of Top 40, Hip Hop and House Music.
Tickets purchased in advance are $9 for the entire weekend or $7 for
one night. They will be $3 more at the door. Tickets will also be available
for only one venue for $5.
Dave Bauma, “Ambassador David,” says “Kalamazoo has
never seen this before!” It sounds like a great time for everyone.
