The Setting

The street, parking lot and intersection are very busy outside, particularly
on the day of my trip. The restaurant’s interior has been
designed to create a literal escape from the craziness outside.
The exclusion
of natural light, dimmed interior lighting, lit table candles,
exposed brick walls and suspended draperies all aid in accomplishing
this goal.
Upon entering Lo-do, I immediately described the place as cozy
and intimate with a sophisticated, urban feel.
The general use of space is well-conceived in an effort to achieve both
a social bar atmosphere in one half and an intimate dining environment
in the other. The dining room’s booths are separated by heavy fabric
curtains. The booth I chose seemed worlds away from the busy happy hour
commotion at the bar. The two halves of the restaurant are separated
by a wall with glass windows.
