Getting your website designed, built and published can be an aggravating process.
It can be much like buying a car a piece at a time and assembling it. You will
need a designer, a builder, a publisher. You will also need to register a domain,
sign up with a hosting company and complete all the settings with that hosting
company so your website will run properly. Not all systems are the same. Think
of a hosting company like the transmission on your car. It makes everything
move forward. Not all transmissions are the same. Some work with one type of
car while others work with different ones. Impact Alliance wants to take care
of all of these steps for you. You will see in “The Process” how
we go from idea to completion.
The Process
I. Design and Layout
The first step in creating (or re-creating) your web presence is design.
This is the most difficult and important step in the procedure. What
do you want the site to look like? Conveying your ideas to a web designer
can be an aggravating thing. “No, I was thinking more like this…” and
they do something “…more like that..”. We here at
Impact Alliance want this to be an easy, casual, fun step for you.
How would you like to see your site in action before you even decide
what content you want to put in it? Most design work can take 5-15
days of a designer’s time. This turns in to lost time and added
expense as changes are communicated between yourself and the designer.
We want to speed up that process and also keep prices down. That is
why we have teamed up with Template Monster. They have over 5500 pre-built
templates for every type of website imaginable. Click
here or on the
Templates on the left and go shopping. Find the style and Impact you
want to make. Keep in mind the difference between non-exclusive and
exclusive. With an exclusive purchase of a template, that template
will be removed from the website never to be sold again. Non-exclusive
sites will continue to be sold until someone buys an exclusive copy.
Even if the site had been sold to someone before, what are the odds
you will run into that site out of the 3 billion sites actively running
on the web? By beginning the process with a template, you know what
the outcome will look like, the type of and how much content you want
on your site (something to really keep in mind. This will be discussed
more later). After deciding on a template, visit the Contact Us page
and get a free quote for the completion of your website. This includes
your marketing verbiage, pictures, styles, graphics and logo. We also
can update your current site. Go to our contact page and give us a
brief description of what you would like done and we can give you a
quote or even set you on a pre-paid maintenance contract so whenever
you need something changed just email or call us and the changes will
be made in 24-48 hours or less (expedited work will incur a slight
up charge).
II. Content Management
Getting all of your information into the template is one of the most
important roles both you and Impact Alliance will play. Once you have
your content ready, we will be able to move forward with building your
new or updated website. We will help you through this process by letting
you know how much and what types of data we need to finish your site.
Are you an apt designer or website builder? If you are, you could make
these changes yourself. You will need website editing software such as
the Macromedia Suite (which includes Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks and
Contribute), Photoshop, or 3D Max. These design programs can cost you
well over $1000.00. If you would like more information on purchasing

on our site. Keep in mind you will now need to learn how to work the
program. That can be an expensive (if you take classes) or time consuming
(if you are trying to teach yourself) process. Allow our professionals
to handle this project for you and you can spend your time doing what
you enjoy. You have a company to run. Do you really want to be a website
designer too?
III. Final Approval and Publishing
Upon receiving your content and placing it within the site, we will
publish your site on our server so you can check it over and give final
approval. Now we will need a hosting company. We can walk you through
this process and upon completion of your signing up with them, fulfilling
any billing
charges from Impact Alliance, we will publish your site to your storage
space and troubleshoot it to insure proper function.
That’s it. You are on the web with a site you will be proud to
call your own. Enjoy it. Tell everyone to take a look at it. This can
be your most important marketing piece. Get your URL (www.yoursite.com)
on all your marketing material. And when people ask where you got it,
